Every week, students fill in the date. They get points for bringing their books and pencils (textbook - 2 points, homework book - 2 points, pencil 2 points.) Written homework is assigned points, and students can mark their own from an answer sheet. Students get 10 points if they speak only English in the class. For each major infraction of the rule, they lose one point, to a minimum of zero. Points are also awarded for winning games in class. At the end of the class, the total is entered.

At the end of a textbook unit, students are given a "four-skills test." The listening test can be a multiple choice "picture" test. For "I can say" the teacher can ask a question (about a card or about the students) and give the children up to five seconds to respond correctly. Reading and writing tests can be appropriate to what has been taught.
