At Chinese New Year it is traditional for parents and elders to give
gifts of "lucky money" to children and unmarried adults. The money,
which can vary from a small, new coin to a substantial sum, is always
presented in a red envelope. It's easy to make a red envelope - why not
have a go with the children?
You will need:
Red paper
Gold paint/ pen
Glue
Red Envelope Template
Instructions:
Print out our template onto red paper and cut out.
Fold along the marked lines and glue the small flaps down, leaving
the top open.
Use gold paint or a pen to draw a Chinese character on the front of
the envelope. You can find some inspiration from our
Chinese
calligraphy cards if you like.
